The Architect.

Is Karl Rove a plus or minus for the USA? His political genius is evident by the mere fact of his villification by the left. The press has been having a field day accusing him of everything short of eating babies. What is it about him that creates such heated and passionate feelings even after he was completely cleared in the Valarie Plame fiasco?

UPDATE: 11/4/06
UPDATE: 11/4/06

Question: What does Karl Rove and the events concerning the disgraced Rev. Ted Haggard have in common?
Answer: NOTHING
Don’t tell that to Martin Lewis. His amazing aptitude for creating negative political associations where none previously existed is astounding. His attempt at humorous analogy is nothing more than a poorly constructed cheap shot.
Huffpo's standards have reached another all time low.

Why do people hate Karl Rove? Because he does really nasty, dispicable and dishonest things.

Karl Rove is a master of the political game. Like Macchiavelli, Talleyrand and Toqueville, he will be studied in political science classes long after the Dems vs Reps partisan infightings are long forgotten...

beryl,

So what you're saying is that Rove is nasty, dispicable and dishonest.
Don't hold back, tell me how you really feel, LOL.
Is this assesment based on suspicion or fact? If so, please cite an example that helped you make this conclusion so that I and my readers can share in your insight. I wonder if there is an approximate counterpart to Rove on the left? Do you think that is possible?

sonia,

A political strategist at the top of his game. He is able to take the nation's pulse and formulate platform issues and bring them into focus. The genius of it is that his formulas worked to deliver the votes. A master, for sure.

I think his big error, is over reliance on the Christian right.

1)There is not as many of them, as it's claimed.

2)The Christian right divides Republicans.

3) I don't think he is that smart, I think the centrist Democrats (Clintonite) are ineffective. They stand for nothing. This season the Dems are doing better, because the Clintonites are less listened to.

4) Bush is at below 40% approval. That is because his politics are obsolete. They have been discredited since the 1930s. Bush and rove hate government programs. They can't accomplish anything, because they sabotage government. See Katrina.

Genius? Use of racism, homophobia and character assasination to break down opponents as McCain.

The results of his genius is scandal and corruption.

The country is less divided than he would like. His strategy of getting 51% is falling apart.

Your post is out of date.

I must make clear I'm not a Democrat. I hate Clinton more than Bush. I like the horserace.

Ren,

You said: "The results of his genius is scandal and corruption."
It would be more accurate to say that scandal and corruption exist as a normal function of the American political system. Rove is just one of the participants in this debacle.
It is true that Rove has not been an equal opportunity political consultant. His expertise has been chiefly offered to the conservative end of the aisle. It is for this reason that numerous suspicions and allegations of dirty tricks have been made public in the media. An excellent example of this was the Valerie Plame “outing”. The left was convinced that it had to be Rove and jumped at the chance for pay back without a shred of evidence. After a long intensive investigation and much hoopla, it was recently concluded that he had no involvement in the “outing”.
Let's face it, if you keep repeating an allegation long enough and consistently enough in the press, you don't need to prove it, it becomes fact in the public's mind without proof. Take for example the WHIG allegation as a conspiracy to slant intelligence in favor of an invasion of Iraq. It is no longer a theory but fact in the far left political mindset.
In June of 2005, Rove said "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers." This statement really pissed off the Democrats and since that time, Rove has been the devil incarnate in their eyes. Instead of accepting this statement as just a different philosophy in battling terrorist groups, the highly insulted Democratic leadership immediately demanded an apology.
They never got it and to this day they are waiting to pounce on any perceived infraction by Rove.

j.l.o.theoriginal,

Thanks for you comment and stopping by my site.
Massachusetts is and has been mostly liberal and solidly Democratic. Rove would most likely be from anywhere but here.
If you were referring to Ted Kennedy and John Kerry as the two senators from here, then yes. I am sure, however, that there is no mutual admiration between these senators and Rove.
